This Friday, NEXTBestArt presents the next in a series of public art events in Youngstown. “Limoncello” is a pop-up cocktail hour, featuring a live cello performance by Scott Burns and live painting by Daniel Rauschenbach, and will take place Friday, August 25th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at The SOAP Gallery, 117 S Champion St., Youngstown OH 44503. The event is free and open to the public, including light refreshments and a cash bar. This project marks two in two months for the organization, with more on the way.
“Public Art brings us together in our common places. It gives us a chance to have a collective moment of reprieve in wonder of the things we can create together. We are working to create economic opportunities for artists here locally and to create a forum upon which we can present Youngstown, as a creative community, to the world. In doing this, we also hope to bring the world of Art to Youngstown and to connect us in a tactile way to the great dialogue of humanity.” – Courtney Waskin, Executive Director
NEXT Best Art is a registered 501 (c)(3) located in Downtown Youngstown, Ohio. Our goal is to connect artists from around the world to the Youngstown-Warren region while highlighting the resources available here; to facilitate the creation and execution of public art; and to promote local art and artists from every field nationally and globally. Together with a supportive board of directors, we are working to see our dream become a reality which will serve to improve the quality of life for local artists as well as the community as a whole.
